What to expect during your visit

Eye exam and diagnostic testing

As caring owners, you want the very best for your pet. Using advanced diagnostic equipment and specialist expertise, we perform a complete examination of the eyes and surrounding structures.

If needed, additional diagnostic testing will be performed during the visit. We will discuss your pet’s condition, answer your questions, and review all available treatment options, including medical and surgical care.

If sedation or surgery is recommended, a follow-up appointment will be arranged and preparation instructions will be discussed with you.

Surgery

Dr. Stengård offers advanced ophthalmic surgery for animals, with care focused on your pet’s vision, comfort, and overall well-being.

Surgical procedures may include eyelid tumor removal, corneal transplantation, tear gland repositioning, and cataract surgery with artificial lens implantation.

Your pet will be cared for by an experienced surgical team committed to safety, comfort, and the best possible outcome. Most pets are admitted in the morning and return home later the same day. In some cases, an overnight stay may be recommended for observation and continued care.
